The most obvious attraction here high in the mountains and so close to the thickest of forests is the Mountain gorilla that make the forest their home. But if you have come in search of gorilla, you will be pleasantly surprised to find a lodge that can vie for your attention! Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge is a brand new eco friendly and community supporting lodge on the very edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda. The lodge has ten independant cottages built from volcanic mountain stone and decorated in muted colours, clean crisp lines and luxury furnishings. Each cottage has it's own warming fireplace, large bathroom and two of the ten are suitable for families or larger groups.
This close to the forest it takes only a short walk to get to the entrance to the park from where you leave on your gorilla tracking journey. A welcome relief after a long hike and a fantastic gorilla encounter will be that the shortest of return journeys to your lodge. Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge prides itself on its cuisine. One would thing that out in 'the sticks' like this it might be difficult to whip up high calibre food, but the well trained staff, who are mostly from the local community, produce exceptional food and your dining experience will be a yet another highlight of your stay.
