Uganda's Engagi Lodge

Engagi Lodge

Newly constructed Mantana Engagi Lodge (Engagi means gorilla in the local language to Bwindi) is ideally located to allow guests to enjoy the delights of the 330 sq km Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park - home of the mighty Mountain Gorilla amongst 120 other animal types, including chimps, duiker, giant forest hog and bush pig. The park is part of the Rukiga Highlands and of the western Rift Valley. It consists of dense tropical rainforest with thick undergrowth.

The lodge is only newly completed and has a traditional feel to it. It is both stylish yet rustically simple. Each of the eight cottages offers superb views of the valley and across to the rainforest. They are spacious and provide comfortable accommodation. The bush surrounding the lodge is teeming with birds and other smaller wildlife.
