The Wharf Hotel & Marina is, as the name suggests, above a private marina on the south-west coast of Mahe. A five minute drive from the international airport it makes a good overnight stop if you are transferring to other islands or boarding a yacht. It appeals greatly to the yachting crowd who overnight here either before or after sailing around the islands.
The hotel has been built recently and is in tip top condition. Cool marble corridors lead you to spacious hotel rooms with every facility. There are large beds, air-conditioning, satellite television, sparkling en suite bathrooms and large patio or terrace. Eight of the rooms overlook the marina, seven the mountains and the penthouse suite has views of both!
In front of the hotel there is a large swimming pool and sun terrace. Meals can either be taken here, or in the hotel restaurant which serves a la carte meals. With all the staff wearing polo shirts emblazoned with the words, 'crew' or 'able seaman' you are in no doubt as to the nautical theme of the hotel and market it is aiming for.
