Egypt's La Flaneuse du Nil
La Flaneuse du Nil
With only seven cabins, La Flâneuse du Nil, offers a more intimate way to sail the Nile and see the spectacular sights set along its banks. It has a slower pace as it powered by the wind and its billowing white sails. The interiors are elegantly decorated in traditional colonial style and all cabins have large windows and air-conditioning.
They have a sustainable policy: The Flâneuse du Nil is sail-propelled for 70% of the trip, the banks of the Nile approached by the dahabieh are cleaned regularly by the crew, all food is purchased on site in the villages, the salaries of the crew are double those generally practiced in Egypt on cruise ships and they offer a system of bonuses based on the number of travellers on board. They also provide our crew members with health and social coverage and they are currently working on a solution to produce hot solar water to cover 80% of their needs.
This cruise only has space on board for a French speaking guide so if you would like to travel on La Flâneuse du Nil, please bear this in mind. We are able to arrange for a private English-speaking guide to meet you at the main sights for a supplement.
